Nollywood is an AKA (As know as) or a term used to describe the Nigerian movie industry. The origin of the term Nollywood was minted by Norimitsu Onishi a journalist at the New York Times in the year 2002 when the journalist recognized film making activities in Lagos, Nigeria.

The term has become a bit more elusive as it doesn’t always apply to Nigerian productions, but it is widely recognized for movies that are produced on the continent of Africa. If you stream Netflix and search for the term “African Movies” a subcategory of Nollywood films will show up.

Today, we bring a list of handful of interesting Nollywood movies to watch on Netflix. Nigeria is doing a great job to wow its viewers.

Lionheart

Running a company can be challenging, especially if you are a female in a male-dominated industry. Looking to prove her worth, Adaeze steps up to the challenge when her father, Chief Ernest Obiagu is forced to take a step back due to health issues.

Ironically, he appoints his crude and eccentric brother, Godswill, instead to run the company with his young daughter. Complications arise when they discover that the family business is in dire financial straits and both Adaeze and Godswill try to save the company in their own way to a crazy and often hilarious results.

King of Boys

King of Boys follows the story of Alhaja Eniola Salami, a businesswoman and philanthropist with a checkered past and a promising political future.

She is a pillar of society – loved by many, feared by most, and truly known by a select few. As her political ambitions see her outgrowing the underworld connections responsible for her considerable wealth, she’s drawn into a power struggle that threatens everything she holds dear.

Moms at War is about two mothers who live in the same neighbourhood, but hate each other. One felt that the other was a village girl who just got into money and is not fit to be in society with them.

But both their kids coincidentally attend the same school and in a competition, both emerge top of their class. Both mothers go crazy, doing all sort of antics for their child to emerge the winner. It’s a story of friendship, sisterhood and bonding in spite of everything.
